Research Area

To understand and communicate vast amount of complex data encoded in text, I develop methods that richly integrate the capabilities of both people and machines. I combine methods from natural language processing, visualization and human-computer interaction to enable effective data analysis and communication. Specifically, I am interested in data present in the vast biomedical literature and in the digital civics domain.
